Synopsis

We are seeking a Instrumentation Mechanician Surface Risk to be situated in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate must have gained the relevant experience in the mining industry.

Description

Ensuring health and safety of all subordinates and complying with Mine Standard Safety Systems

Installation & Maintenance of all types of Field Instruments

Producing reports to assist senior management in decision making

Making recommendations on equipment and systems improvements, which could contribute to improved system performance

Ensuring that all relative procedures/risk assessments are in place

Ensuring that all company's standards are adhered to at all times

Willing to conduct a theory and practical instrument test

Responsible for C&I, Networks, Fire Detection, Time & Attendance, Leaky feeder, Telephones, Cameras.

Requirements

Be in possession of a Grade 12 or Equivalent

Be in possession of a relevant Engineering Instrumentation Trade Certificate

Have at least 3 years’ experience in Process Control Systems

Be in position of a N3 Certificate

Be fully computer literate

Be declared medically fit for the position and the environment, as determined by the risk based medical examination

Key competencies:

Have good knowledge on Ethernet/Device Net protocol

Have extensive knowledge in Industrial Field Instrumentation

Be able to operate without the support of external contractors

Fire Detection and gas monitoring systems

Have sound Interpersonal relations and good communication skills.
