Our client in the insurance industry is seeking to employ a Systems Engineer: Microsoft Collaborative Technologies who will be involved in configuring, maintaining and administrating Microsoft collaborative systems including MS SharePoint, MS Teams and 0365.


  • The Systems Engineer: Microsoft collaborative technologiesis expected to drive the company-wide adoption of the Microsoft collaborative stack, this will be achieved through customisation to suit individual business needs, education and upkeep of the systems involved
  • The Systems Engineer: Microsoft collaborative technologies will be involved with determining strategy and will also aid in the lifecycle management of all related technologies from incubation to end of life planning
  • The role is also responsible for ensuring security and configuration compliance and will work with other members of the IT System Administration Team
  • Vendor management and internal client expectation management is also core to the role
  • As part of the responsibilities, the role will be tasked to respond to requests from end-users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT system assistance, data, and information
  • The Systems Engineer: Microsoft collaborative technologiesrole collaborates with senior personnel in performing risk assessments to determine impact on customer business processes and systems downtime and proposes changes as needed
  • The Systems Engineer: Microsoft collaborative technologiesImplements system changes across large, complex and diverse collaborative environments by using standardised defined methods and procedures; provides efficient and prompt handling of all changes to improveday-to-day operations
  • Install and administer Microsoft collaborative technologies these include including MS SharePoint, MS Teams and 0365
  • Plan and execute system fixes, updates, and enhancements
  • Manage O365 user accounts, privileges, and system access
  • Optimise and maintain performance, housekeeping, availability, serviceability, and recovery
  • Perform troubleshooting, analysis of alerts, and repairs on collaborative systems
  • Ensure system availability, functionality, integrity and efficiency, and maintain system configuration and documentation
  • Implement security procedures, as directed by the security team
  • Ownership and execution of incident management and system maintenance
  • Proven experience with MS Azure and O365


Qualifications and Experience

  • Certifications in domain-specific technologies (Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Teams and related systems)
  • Relevant Degree in IT advantageous


Requirements and Skills

  • 5 Years’ experience in Microsoft collaborative technologies
  • Microsoft IIS Skills – Beneficial
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint Modern Experience – Required
  • Development experience with PowerShell – Required
  • Prior customer service or support experience – Required
  • Development experience with PowerApps and MS Flow – Beneficial
  • Web development experience (HTML, CSS) – Beneficial
  • Knowledge of automation concepts.
  • Determine critical procedures within the existing environment and automate deployment and upgrades
  • Ability to script and automate processes that require bulk distribution, change, or input
  • Able to provide effective work support off-hours as required, including weekends, holidays, and 24 / 7 on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis
