Synopsis

Our client in the financial services industry is seeking to employ a Wealth Financial Accountant who will provide specialist advice and support in the maintenance and analysis of financial data in order to provide accurate reports and information to relevant business stakeholders, through the execution of predefined objectives.

Description

  • Escalate unresolved delivery and quality issues to operational management and process owners
  • Develop solutions to improve operational service and quality
  • Support the auditing process by providing accurate and up to date data in alignment with organisational financial reporting standards and requirements
  • Ensure the authorisation and release of payments in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure the accurate and timely reporting on payments, accruals and reconciliations, ensuring a clear audit trail
  • Investigate anomalies and or irregularities to verify facts that lead to the identification and reduction of risks
  • Accurately reconcile financial transaction records to supporting documentation in order to enable the verification of the validity of transactions
  • Builds positive stakeholder relationships and provides opportunity for feedback and exceptional service
  • Adhere to specified policies, standards and procedures to prevent and reduce wastage of financial resources and escalate associated risks
  • Comply with governance, compliance, integrity and ethics processes and procedures in area of specialisation and continuously identify and escalate risks

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and Professional Qualifications
  • 2 - 3 years' experience in a similar environment

  • Financial Accounting: Knowledge of financial accounting principles, classifying, measuring and recording transactions
  • Financial Management: Compiles and manages budgets, controls cash flow, institutes ERM and administers tender procurement processes
