A well renowned financial and services organisation is currently seeking an individual to assume the role of Employee Benefits Consultant. The successful incumbent will be responsible for consulting services on Small-Medium Portfolio of Clients as well as provide assistance and support to the Senior or Principal Consultants on Medium-Large Client Portfolios.


  • Prepare trustee packs for Small-Medium Client Portfolios, reporting on completion of all actions from previous meetings and facilitate review of agenda on Medium-Large Client Portfolios by the Senior or Principal Consultant.
  • Analyse the fund's position and any issues pertinent thereto and assess any new legislative developments or best practises that need to be included in the agenda.
  • Attend ad-hoc trustee meetings to present the agenda and record discussions in order to prepare minutes. On Medium-Large Client Portfolios, such meetings shall be attended with a Senior or Principal Consultant
  • Ensure that action items and tasks are completed and implemented by the responsible parties
  • Circulate completed minutes to clients within two weeks of the meeting date.
  • Review risk benefit structure for Small-Medium Clients prior to market tests or renewals.
  • Prepare investment return summaries and collate to present in the client agenda pack.
  • Arrange investment presentations by investment managers at client meetings.
  • Prepare and send investment communication to Small-Medium Clients and to Senior or Principal Consultant for Medium-Large Clients.
  • Perform investment needs analyses and provide justified recommendations, guidance and advice to Small-Medium Clients for consideration.
  • Draft the statement of investment for funds encompassing the considerations, decisions, background, requirements, objectives, profile and strategy of the fund.
  • Maintain Fund master file by filing all updated documents immediately.
  • Draft fund communication and reporting for Small-Medium Clients.
  • Review financial statements and liaison with the relevant parties to effect any corrections prior to presentation to client.
  • Review actuarial valuations and liaison with the relevant parties to effect any corrections prior to presentation to client.
  • Collate and provide fund related information to admin, finance, service providers and clients as required.
  • Complete the finance checklist and collate of any fund documentations (e.g. minutes and amendments approved over the last financial year) for provision to finance in order to prepare the annual financial statements of the fund.
  • Request and manage deadlines for any information or documentations required for internal or external reporting (e.g. admin reports for agendas, regional manager checklists etc.).


  • Bachelor of Law or Commerce Degree.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ consulting experience in an Employee Benefits environment.
  • Must have at least 10 years’ experience in an Employee Benefits environment, if without a Degree.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
  • FAIS Accreditation.
