A leading pharmaceutical organisation is currently seeking an individual to assume the role of IT Business Partner to support their HR function. The successful incumbent will be responsible for nurturing strong organisation and IT relationships and serve as a single point of contact, working to converge organisation’ functions with IT.


  • Engage with key stakeholders on all organisational levels.
  • Use design thinking techniques to determine the true requirements for enablement.
  • Provide a face from IT into the organisation, with the intent of enhancing the business function’s capability through enabling the organisation processes, reducing complexity and improving data-driven decision-making.
  • Contribute to the business partner leadership team by actively partnering with the organisation peers to determine and articulate strategic direction.
  • Shape organisational demand into supply by partnering with appropriate business resources to facilitate ideation and the development of business cases and value plans, with a focus on continuous business improvement.
  • Work closely with SA Commercial IT Business Analysts to ensure that the organisation’ demands are addressed effectively and sensibly.
  • Work with architects to understand new technology trends and forecast future IT requirements.
  • Work with project managers to provide business, project and IT improvement data to stakeholders.
  • Work with financial leadership on annual IT budgets and forecasts.
  • Coach organisation leaders and enable them to articulate their function’s systems needs and requirements.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture to develop and maintain multi-year business capability roadmaps.
  • Partner with the organisation transformation teams to ensure effective business transformation for all initiatives.
  • Lead as the strategic interface between the BRM and the functional area or business partner.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the business partner’s functional area and develop positive relationships, both horisontally and vertically.
  • Ensure business value realisation and optimisation, from value plans through consultancy, business case development, financial awareness, managing expectations, and identifying opportunities to add value.


  • Matric.
  • Must have a business-related qualification (degree or diploma) or equivalent work experience (10+ years).
  • 5 to 10 years of functional experience in the relevant business function.
  • Extensive experience in the Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects, based on management objectives.
  • Knowledge of Governance frameworks such as King IV, PoPI and GDPR would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of IT service management or service control or enterprise architecture processes, methodologies and frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF would be an added advantage.
