Synopsis

Our client, a prominent player in the mining industry is currently seeking an individual to assume the role of Continuous Improvement and A and I Superintendent. The successful incumbent will be responsible for driving innovation and the continuous improvement of processes and systems within the organisation.

Description

  • Work with key stakeholders, to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing programme of change.
  • Lead and facilitate the analyses and improve workshops to define bottlenecks, problems and then develop appropriate solutions with rapid iterations.
  • Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexities within organisations processes and identification of better ways of working.
  • Participate and contribute towards the establishment of a project plans, specifications and resource requirements of the optimisation projects.
  • Map out all workflows, remove waste and low-value activities and recommend solutions.
  • Work with service delivery teams to devise new support material based on the revised processes, to include training, reporting and systems enhancements.
  • Demonstrate behaviour in line with health, safety and environmental standards and with the organisation’s values.
  • Set the health, safety and environmental expectations for your team and monitor behaviour so that it meets the required standards.

  • Provide leadership to and develop the performance of your team in line with the organisation’s policies and systems (e.g. performance management) in order to achieve business goals.
  • Foster a constructive and productive working environment.
  • Contribute to the development of the budget.
  • Monitor your costs against budget and either address or advise your manager of any variances of note.
  • Identify any opportunities for improved cost management and either address these or raise them with your manager as appropriate.
  • Fully understand the policies, processes and systems which apply to your team’s work and provide leadership so that your team works within these.
  • Identify any issues around these that interfere with the ability of your team to complete work or meet the plans or strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Honours degree in a relevant technical discipline
  • Accredited Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, preferably Black Belt will be advantageous
  • Must have minimum 5 to 7 years proven continuous improvement analytical experience from a similar role, including project management and business analysis
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
