Our client, a prominent financial services organisation is currently seeking an individual to assume the role of Finance IT Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for executing all of the organisations Finance IT projects by collaborating with the Finance IT Team and multiple business areas as well as multiple teams that require deep integration of solutions.


  • Manage team members delivery by ensuring work gets done on time and correctly; using Code reviews, Agile or Scrum - Sprint planning as well as Agrunning daily stand-ups.
  • Manage team output and workload, new products, enhancements and quality management.
  • Implement and maintain financial controls for all finance related systems.
  • Manage all stakeholders to ensure requirements are delivered on time and up to standard.
  • Actively engage with Finance IT team on their career development and training requirements.
  • Create context and an understanding within the Finance IT team by explaining quantity, quality and amount of time used to team members, ensuring the assignment is understood and receiving commitment from team members.
  • Manage projects by work prioritisation and assignments for development team members giving explanation on methods or processes required to complete tasks.
  • Test and validate the functionality of technical solutions against organisation requirements.
  • Assume responsibility for the design of new IT solutions, modify, enhance or adapt existing systems and integrate new features or improvements, all with the aim of improving organisation efficiency and productivity.
  • Specify and shape the system requirements and operations, the user interface and output and present the proposal to the respective stakeholders.
  • Support Finance IT Team in resolving complex problems while ensuring adherence to standards and objectives.
  • Provide necessary reporting on financial and operational indicators relating to business systems. Provide feedback (reporting) to senior management on achievements, pending issues, problems and suggested recommendations.
  • Make recommendations and take decisions on technical or complex business systems functions related to IT development.
  • Ensure that customer service standards are maintained in accordance with service level agreements and to assist with technical advice and other assistance over and above the normal business systems duties.
  • Communicate effectively with external parties as well as business systems team and other divisions.
  • Ensure full compliance to all processes, policies and procedures and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate with senior management initiatives around product development, processes, policy and strategy.
  • Manage the performance and efficiency of the team and individuals, using KPI’s, standards, process compliance, service level agreements, policy and procedures as tools and guides.


  • IT Degree or equivalent.
  • Must have at least 8 to 10 years development/system working experience.
  • Additionally, must have at least 3 years managerial experience.
  • Agile Practical Experience would be beneficial.
  • 3 to 5 years Great Plains and/ Hyperian user experience.
