Synopsis

Our client, global chemical manufacturer, is seeking a Brand and Comms Manager to manage all brands in Africa and lead implementation of innovative brand offers and activities to deliver Brand Health objectives underpinning delivery of volume, turnover and gross margin targets across brands.

Description

  • Develop Country Brand Marketing plans across auto space, adopting and adapting global brand strategies and programmes.
  • Lead development of engagement strategy for consumers and customers, including Media planning to deliver Media KPIs and post evaluation of media campaigns, with special focus on leveraging and building capability in digital media.
  • Develop and activate social communities via both Online and Offline channels.
  • Develop local KOLs and activates these via different media and channels.
  • Ensure that all brand communication to and through customers is on brand strategy and follows comms guidelines.
  • Accountable for price setting in line with Global Pricing strategy, working closely with Pricing Team.
  • Lead pricing recommendation for new product launches in Africa in line with IPP principles and pricing DOAs.
  • Create New Product launch plans in market and gains alignment with Channel and CVO Activation Managers. Accountable for PBA implementation for Auto and CVO/Industrial in country, taking the lead in special projects such as POP/Genome.
  • Execute global sponsorship assets in country ensuring maximum usage and coverage through PR, digital and traditional media. Develops local sponsorships post requisite signoffs in line with brand strategy.
  • Drive Marketing automation, leveraging digital best practices such as Campaign Management Tools, Content Management etc.
  • Responsible for the brand PandLs. Identify opportunities to deliver incremental gross margin growth through cost reduction and/or volume growth opportunities and manages quarterly Brand reviews to ensure delivery of Brand Health and Financial metrics versus plan.
  • Accountable for providing inputs into global brand teams for ODIMS, especially during the initial stages, based on consumer insights generated from the African market.
  • Leadership of Brand and Comms team to deliver programmes and manages the appropriate split of resources, including allocation of prioritised projects in the team.
  • Coach and develop, recruit and performance manage team.
  • Develop and implement a systematic approach through the embedding of relevant OMS elements and ensuring appropriate risk reviews are undertaken.
  • Understand, embed within the team and fulfil agreed specific Product Quality and Compliance accountabilities which apply to the role, as part of the Auto and Industrial Marketing role card.

Requirements

  • University degree in Marketing or related discipline.
  • MBA or equivalent post graduate degree desirable.
  • Substantial experience in B2C and B2B Marketing.
  • Experience of leading high-performance teams.
  • Significant experience in disciplined brand campaign execution.
  • Experience of working with agencies across multiple channels and countries.
  • Experience of working in a matrix organization with complex interfaces.
  • Lubricants experience desirable.
  • High degree of personal impact.
