Synopsis

A notable video entertainment organisation is currently seeking an individual to assume the role of Business Systems Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for implementing functionalities that are based on the organisations requirements as well as ensuring that the organisations existing systems are operational, maintained and optimised.

Description

  • Assume Responsibility for the Evolution product, and various decisions around the product.
  • Own the product backlog, and ensures the backlog is in line with the various business requirements.
  • Work alongside Scrum Masters to ensure clear and concise understanding of the business requirements.
  • Attend all SCRUM stand-ups, Retrospectives and Demo’s in respect of every sprint.
  • Assists in acting as conduit between SME’s, Business and the Programme Team.
  • Review and approve specification documents of all MAL Business Requirement and any other artefacts required within the project.
  • Review testing changes, upgrades, new services, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current environments.
  • Identify and log possible business process improvements that can be enabled by either existing or new functionality within Business Systems.
  • Identify training needs, assist in preparing training documentation.
  • Interface between Business teams and IT teams.
  • Own and improve the system defects management process related to internal and external parties.
  • Troubleshoot issues to determine the root cause.
  • Oversee the activities of the team to ensure effective delivery of business outcomes.
  • Develop a high performing team by embedding formal performance management process using I-perform system and informal coaching.
  • Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members.
  • Determine and analyse development needs for the team and ensure that identified training requirements are budgeted for and executed.
  • Interview and recruit new members of the team, including determining appropriate compensation levels with input from Human Capital.
  • Create effective workforce and recruitment demand plans to ensure that current and future business requirements can be met.
  • When required, initiate disciplinary processes for team members calling on support from Human Capital when required.
  • Address poor performance of any team member through the formal Performance improvement programme and ensure that continued poor performance is appropriately dealt with.
  • Motivate team members and ensure that their efforts are recognised.

Requirements

  • Degree and technical professional qualification.
  • 3-5 Years’ experience and proven track record in a MCAL Operational support role.
  • Experience in managing and leading full-time and outsourced resources.
  • Experience in liaising with vendors for system support.
  • Change and Project management experience.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience in agile project delivery approaches.
