A leading Minerals and Mining organisation is currently seeking an individual to assume the role of Senior Learning and Development Officer. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the co-ordination and implementation of all training programs by ensuring that the execution of planned training and development interventions are effectively carried out.


  • Consult with line management to identify the organisation’s training and development needs.
  • Source appropriate service providers to ensure quality services.
  • Manage the costs of any planned programs.
  • Monitor the execution of development interventions as agreed between individuals and their managers.
  • Co-ordinate systems to measure, monitor and report on the Company’s Training Plan to ensure that Business Unit objectives and goals are met.
  • Check that qualifications are maintained accurately to ensure that training records are correct.
  • Ensure submissions of the Workplace Skills Plans and Annual Training Reports to the Mining Qualifications Authority and performs the legal responsibility of the Skills Development Facilitator.
  • Maintain the qualification catalogue and date integrity data.
  • Monitors the progress of trainees and ensure progress is achieved in the required timeframes.
  • Co-ordinates the DBM Learnership programmes by ensuring that the right candidates are recruited and progress is monitored.


  • Relevant Degree or Diploma.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Training and Development.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Computer Literate (knowledge of SAP PD would be advantageous).
