Synopsis

An influential company in the petroleum industry is currently seeking an individual to assume the role of Human Resource Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the day to day management of all human resources activities and operations that the organisation carries out as well as supporting the organisation in fulfilling its objectives.

Description

  • Design, vet and deploy talent readiness activities at all levels of the organisation including, but not limited to, high-potential assessments, promotional assessments and general leadership readiness.
  • Develop tools to diagnose gaps, opportunities and risks in the organisation.
  • Execute on the talent management framework, ensuring succession, competency framework, retention and sub-grading.
  • Ensure that the organisation has sustainable talent feeder pools.
  • Conduct Assessment and Skills Planning including (overseeing the WSP and ATR).
  • Implement Learnership Programs (optimise on Skills Dev on the scorecard).
  • Support a culture of diversity and inclusion, fosters individual and team development, maintain independence, articulate opinions on decision making processes involving talent development.
  • Analyse, review and evaluate training and learning interventions.
  • Ensure on-going research and development initiatives to ensure organisation meet or exceed contemporary industry training standards and delivery innovations.
  • Establish and lead the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit, hire and retain a superior workforce.
  • Development of retention strategies in keeping with competitor sets and market trends.

Requirements

  • 4-year Degree in Human Resources or Social Sciences or Commerce.
  • Post graduate degree will (advantageous).
  • Good planning and organising skills.
  • PC literacy (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • General business management understanding across functional departments.
  • High propensity for change and a natural inclination to drive and manage change in the organisation.
  • Experience in managing 3rd party suppliers, e.g. training providers, labour lawyers etc.
