Synopsis

An eminent financial services organisation is currently seeking an individual to assume the role of Area Sales Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for recruiting, developing, motivating, guiding and leading a team of financial advisers to achieve the organisations objectives and agreed sales targets in an effective and efficient manner.

Description

  • Manage the expense budget for the Sales team/branch to remain within the agreed expense budgets.
  • Provide monthly detailed Expense Reports to reflect budget vs actual and provide commentary on variances.
  • Drive cost containment and efficiencies within team and branch.
  • Ensure adherence within allocated mandates.
  • Ensure successful implementation of the team and branch’s set and agreed business plan.
  • Action, monitor and report on progress and or risks in the successful achievement of the team’s business plan and objectives.
  • Support worksite managers in marketing and sales initiatives aligned to identified worksites.
  • Take ownership of the relationships with all relevant stakeholders within allocated worksites.
  • Identify and allocate suitable financial advisers to current and new worksites to successfully support the worksite sales plan and drive achievement of penetration targets.
  • To drive marketing and sales initiatives in the Sales Team to help financial advisers identify and penetrate new markets.
  • To ensure the effective fulfilment of sales through management of the premium collection processes within allocated worksites.
  • Build and maintain quality and sustainable business relationships within identified markets and worksites.
  • Ensure all relevant legislation is adhered to, e.g. FICA, FAIS, Anti-Money Laundering, TCF, POPI, RDR, PPR, OHSA, etc.
  • Ensure all Worksite regulatory requirements and agreements are adhered to.
  • Ensure financial Advisers comply with a FAIS compliant Sales process, i.e. providing clients with appropriate advice and/or intermediary service to relevant solutions.
  • Ensure ECM Sales and new business processes and standards are adhered to.
  • Effective implementation and monitoring the adherence of standard operating procedures and principles, e.g. Activity Management, Fit and Proper Supervision, Financial Expenditure Control, etc.
  • Achieve specific and agreed sales and business quality targets.
  • Conduct daily monitoring of sales targets actual and implement effective corrective measures to close gaps and mitigate potential risks of non-achievement.

Requirements

  • Grade 12.
  • Post Matric financial qualification.
  • Relevant FAIS recognised qualification.
  • Regulatory Exam (RE 5 and RE 1).
  • Code 10 Driver's License.
  • Language fluency in English and Regional Vernacular.
  • 2-3 years Sales Management experience (within the financial industry).
  • Leading and Supervising a Sales team.
  • 1-2 years Life Insurance experience.
  • In-depth exposure to the entry level market (preferred).
  • 1-year Long-term Insurance subcategory A, B1 - A and B2 - A sales experience.
