A leading financial services provider is seeking an Active Directory Specialist with ITIL v3 experience, for the oversight and support of our client's Active Directory infrastructure. The successful incumbent will monitor, maintain and report on the health infrastructure. Domain and Forest level policy management is advantageous for this role.


  • Provide a superior customer experience through incident and request management
  • Ensure effective communication with internal and external customers
  • Perform standby duties and work overtime
  • Give input to and implement operational and business strategies, industry best practices and ensure necessary governance is in place
  • To support the disaster recovery (DR) team, to assist with designs and document disaster recovery procedures
  • Support the high impact Incidents resolution team
  • Service related incidents, changes and requests and ensure that SLAs are met
  • Review and enforce security standards to prevent data being compromised
  • Provide server health and capacity management reports
  • Review and deploy security and operating system patches


  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas / National 1st Degrees
  • Relevant Microsoft Certifications
  • ITIL v3 experience / certification a must
  • IT related Degree or Diploma
  • 7+ years’ experience specialising in Active Directory management
  • Active Directory Domain Services: Domains and Trusts, Sites and Services and Users and Computers
  • Domain and Forest level policy management
  • Domain Controller installation, configuration and management
  • Active Directory Federation Services
  • Azure Active Directory Connect for Office 365
  • Active Directory Rights Management Services
  • Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services
  • Public Key Infrastructure and certification authority
  • KMS and AD Based licensing
  • Document, develop and optimize services and standards
  • Infrastructure services health status reporting
  • Security compliance
  • Writing technical and disaster recovery documentation, participating in DR exercises
  • Be able to automate solutions through scripting
  • Solid understanding of networking, server hardware, storage subsystems
  • Virtualisation experience preferred: VMware and Hyper-V
  • Experience in being part of troubleshooting exercises of incidents with high impact
  • Taking a leading role in system wide solution design activities
