Synopsis

Plan, execute and finalise procurement projects according to deadlines and within budget, acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and internal departments. You will be required to deliver according to plan as Group Procurement Manager for an innovative technology-based services provider.

Description

  • Develop and implement appropriate sourcing strategies for various commodities, while ensuring the continuation and enhancement of services from internal and external stakeholders
  • Evolve the procurement function to a more enhanced strategic sourcing process by implementing MRP, contract negotiation, contract administration, sourcing systems, and supplier quality to become more cost effective
  • Define and implement the procurement policy according to the company group strategy
  • Develop the Fleet management strategy for procurement of new vehicles and effective management of all areas of fleet cost to drive down cost (fuel spend, accident spend and procurement spend)
  • Manage the BEE accreditation process and maintenance thereof and ensures that material and services are procured from BEE compliant suppliers
  • Effectively manage the B-BBEE strategy for the Procurement, Supplier development and Enterprise development areas based on the latest B-BBEE Code, including all areas of Supplier compliance
  • Manage the negotiation of contracts and preferred supplier and pricing agreements
  • Manage all aspects related to Procurement and Supply Chain for the Group including Driving Procurement Best Practice, Innovative KPI Implementation, Strategic Negotiation, Operating and capital Equipment Purchasing
  • Manage the Central stock warehouse ensuring the appropriate flow of products between offshore sourcing locations, the central warehouse and branches
  • Conduct monthly stock counts and ensuring that stock differences are minimised and review the controls and processes in the warehouse to ensure strong governance and risk managed
  • Optimise existing software and implement improvements that mitigate risk and yet are flexible to address business requirements
  • Manage the group purchases, logistics and interacts with the Operations Manager, CFO, the Quality Manager as well as Managing Directors of the various subsidiaries
  • Provide budgetary information / KPI’s to all business units to ensure understanding and client quotations accurately reflect operational costs
  • Define procurement objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle

Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience and a minimum of a bachelor’s degree required
