Description

  • Establish, align and manage target and budget goals whilst ensuring effective control of costs for own functional areas to increase cost efficiency
  • Deliver exceptional service that exceeds customers’ expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions by resolving queries fast and effectively
  • Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, SME’s, project managers and senior staff members by providing input to business requirements
  • Build and sustain collaborative working relationships with relevant peers and stakeholders in order to achieve productivity synergies
  • Comply, understand and implement all steps and methodology within IT development and meet governance in terms of legislative and audit, risk, for the test analysis environment
  • Set, develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of development and testing processes and methods through staff and business application
  • Manage a team of software test analysts and testers and plan, control and manage assigned test and verification projects, plus tracking progress against plans including defect management and monitoring
  • Review and evaluate work and prepares performance and progress reports with regard to the operations
  • Communicate accurately on IT test project status in all appropriate meetings as well as on the relevant report supported by statistical evidence and analysis
  • Develop plans to improve operational and cost efficiencies by tracking, controlling and influencing activities with the specific aim to increase efficiencies of the team by keeping pace with the accelerated rate of innovation and develop plans to allow the organisation to become more flexible
  • Support best practice and innovation in the operational model through critical assessment of its workings and challenge to its design assumptions through testing analysis of software systems
  • Continuously assess own performance, seek timely and clear feedback and request training where appropriate and needed
  • Predict staffing needs to ensure all requirements are identified and the team is appropriately sized for test analysis through monitoring, supervising and motivating staff assigned to the projects for completion
  • Plan and manage performance, skills development, employment equity, talent and culture of team in order to improve innovation, achieve efficiencies and increase competencies
  • Promotion and implementation of testing capabilities in the QA space and across the SDLC
  • Responsibility for talent, succession planning and software vendor management
  • make key decisions relating to QA within the context of the IT delivery
  • Ensuring successful quality assurance of all releases

Requirements

  • Relevant degree in IT or Computer Science
  • At least ISTQB Foundation Certificate
  • At least 4 years’ experience of fulfilling a Test Analyst role
  • At least 3 years Integrations Testing
  • Exposure to test automation, preferably as an Automator and / or alternatively experience in the implementation of test automation
  • Planning, prioritisation of all the test-related tasks (use proven project management tools such as the V-Cycle or Scrum or waterfall methodology)
  • Writing of test strategies
  • Designing of test plans
  • Code reviewing / unit testing
  • Expertise and good usage of QA tools such as test management tools (such as HP Quality Centre) or versioning systems (SVN) etc
  • SDLC – Waterfall / V Model / Agile
  • HP Quality Centre
  • Test automation tools: selenium, SOPUI, UFT
  • Confluence/Jira
  • Minimum: Degree in Computer Science or Information Science or related field
  • Preferred: ISTQB/ISEB Certification; SQL; Automation Tools; Management Development Certification
  • 4 to 6 years related experience
